UNA-Canada had the unique opportunity to meet the Federal Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development (CESD), Julie Gelfand and Performance Audit Principal, Kimberly Leach. The CESD provides parliamentarians with objective, independent analysis and recommendations on the federal government’s efforts to protect the environment and foster sustainable development. We discussed issues related to Canada’s actions to address Climate Change, Conserving Biodiversity and Preparedness to implement the United Nations 2030 Sustainable Development Goals.
